This adorable cheese and olive pizza is perfect to put together with the kiddies on Halloween. While you can make it from scratch, we recommend using dough and sauce shortcuts — the end result is just as delicious (not to mention spooooky)! Click through to follow our steps.
What you’ll need:
-FreshDirect frozen pizza dough (we used wheat)
-Fresh mozzarella cheese (we did a taste and it melted the best, but you can use deli mozzarella or shredded as well)
-Pizza sauce (or marinara)
What to do:
-Preheat your oven per your dough instructions. (Leave the frozen dough in the fridge overnight so it’s ready.)
-Use a ghost cookie cutter to create ghost shapes. We used kitchen shears to cut out the shapes ourselves, but we’re all about shortcuts!
-Once your dough is rolled out on a floured surface, add it to a pan with nonstick spray or olive oil. Spoon on your pizza sauce and any spices you’d like to add. (If you’re feeling ambitious, brush olive oil on the crust.)
-Place your cheese ghosts on the pizza. Slice up a black olive to use as ghost eyes and mouths, and place on the mozzarella.
-When the oven is preheated, put your pizza in and cook according to your dough’s directions. While it’s cooking up, cut green olives in half lengthwise and create slits on the side — that’s where you’ll add rosemary springs as the spider legs.
-Once the dough is cooked through and the ghosts and nice and melty, remove from the oven and let cool before adding your olive spiders.
