Eating your dinner in jars is the new way to eat dinner. Plus, you can customize these for each member of your family!
What You’ll Need:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, diced
1 pound ground beef
4 cups tomato sauce
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1 cup shredded cheddar
1 cup shredded mozzarella
3-4 sheets lasagna noodles, cooked
Pre-sliced zucchini and squash
4 sprigs fresh basil
What to Do:
Preheat your oven to 400°.
Boil water and cook your lasagna noodles for 5–10 minutes, or until soft. Use the jar lid to cut the noodles into circles that will fit in the jar.
Heat a pan on high heat and add olive oil and diced onions. Cook until soft. Add ground beef and thoroughly cook. Add tomato sauce and cover. Lower heat and let the meat and sauce heat together.
To make your white cheese sauce, melt butter in a sauce pan and add flour. Add milk and shredded mozzarella until everything melts together.
Work fast because the white sauce hardens quickly. Layer your mason jars like so: meat sauce, white cheese sauce, lasagna noodle, zucchini and squash slices. Repeat until you reach the top of the jar and add shredded cheddar cheese on top.
Bake for 15–20 minutes or until the cheese is melted on top.
Serve with fresh basil.
Make it veg! Use Beyond ground beef or remove the meat altogether for a vegetarian-friendly dinner.
