Get ready for the Summer Games with this classic Brazilian cocktail.
As the games quickly approach, there’s no better way to celebrate the world’s greatest athletes than with the host country’s national cocktail. The caipirinha is the mojito’s Brazilian cousin in that they are both refreshing, summery, and sweet. The only difference between the two: The caipirinha is so much easier to make! You just need cachaça—a Brazilian distilled spirit made from sugarcane—sugar, and limes. Once you mix your drink, you’re ready to toast to your national team in style.
What To Do:
Cut one lime into four wedges.
Place the lime wedges and sugar into an old-fashioned glass. With a muddler or wooden spoon, muddle the limes and sugar into the base of the glass.
Fill the glass with crushed ice and add Cachaça. Saúde!
