Chicken Wings

Local vendor Gotham Greens grows everything in their sustainable rooftop greenhouse.

In a city full of sky scrapers, concrete and congestion, it’s sometimes hard to remember that there’s a whole world outside our 8-million-strong microcosm. But we know our actions have a ripple effect and that even taking that split-second to put a plastic bottle into the nearest recycling bin can make a big impact.

Admittedly, there’s a lot more that we can do, but we have made vast improvements in our site, service, and product selection to help our customers buy greener, eco-friendlier products.  From environmentally-safe household products to local and organic produce, we’re happy to be able to provide you with more choices for your family….

New Android App Delivers Convenience

Mobile App

Now Android users can download our mobile app and shop on-the-go!

Now busy parents can stock up their home refrigerators using the new FreshDirect Android app from just about anywhere, just like users of FreshDirect’s iPhone app. And when we say anywhere; we mean just about  everywhere.

“We took a dolphin watch boat ride in the Galveston harbor (Texas) when I realized I’d be returning home the next day and forgot to order my groceries. The app worked great (even on a boat) and I had everything delivered a few hours after I returned home to New York,” says Kim, a Williamsburg resident.

Kim says she uses her phone app pretty consistently. “I will start my order on a computer and add things as I realize I need them. It’s nice, because I don’t have to write it down, and then add it to my list when I get home. I rarely forget to order anything because of the app,” she says.

Calling Young Artists!

Gather the kids and break out the art supplies! We’re issuing an invitation to young artists in our community to show everyone what it means to share a family meal.

Your Art Here!

To celebrate the launch of FreshDirect KidPower(TM) all-natural kids meals and support children’s art education and creativity, FreshDirect and The Children’s Museum of the Arts (CMA) have launched the FreshArt initiative: a call to young artists (grades three through six) to create works of art that express the positive experience of sharing a family meal.

This initiative will be launched in the FreshDirect delivery areas in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Three pieces of artwork — one from each of the participating states — will be selected to be featured large-scale on the sides of select FreshDirect delivery trucks. Also, a $1,500 monetary award will be donated to the schools designated by the parents or guardians of the creators of the selected art. (The designated schools must be located in the FreshDirect delivery areas.)

Download entry forms and contest details from:

We’re hoping to share some terrific FreshArt entries right here, and we can’t wait to see what our community’s kids create!
